Angie's Story
Angie spent most of her working life as a nurse, and as a wife and mother, and now spends her time as Nana to 12 grandchildren.
In 2022 Angie decided it was time to do something she had always thought about doing; to open a shop which would supply all of the household items every woman needs and wants!!
Thus, the start of Nana's Primitive Barn.
Farmhouse and Primitive Decor Origin
Farmhouse Decor dates back to the 1700's when it first appeared in the United States. The design was more about practicality than aesthetics, choosing function over appearance. Items were made from natural materials and colors, and tended to be simple and natural. Years later, homeowners still favor the simple beauty of farms and farmhouses, and the simple, uncluttered design that will serve for generations to come.
Primitive Decor stems from life for early 1800's American pioneers. Their art, crafts, and traditions have a simple, homespun beauty of their own. The Primitive style is designed to have an old or antique look but is created using new materials. This allows you to start your decorating with any element that reflects the pioneers such as candles, wooden signs and wall decor, hooked rugs, potpourri jars, table runners, etc.
